Broad insight and experience
Throughout my career, my professional experience has been broad. I've provided evidence-based treatment for a range of common and complex mental health challenges in both public and private settings. This includes supporting young people and parents, providing neuro-affirming care, and working with substance use and addictive behaviours I’ve also worked in leadership roles, research, delivered university lectures, delivered mental health awareness programs, and hosted parenting groups.
My current area of focus within my clinical practice is supporting women experiencing mental health challenges as a result of managing the mental load, invisible labour and caregiver burn out.
With such a deep range of experience, I can offer insightful support for case-specific consultations, as well as supervision and guidance for other professionals outside of psychology.
Supporting your professional & personal development
As psychologists, we’re constantly learning. Our experience and interactions with clients can enrich our careers and enhance our abilities to help others.
The role of the psychologist is demanding, and requires a great degree of compassion and empathy. Prioritising our own stress management and emotional self-care is key in finding success and satisfaction in our career and avoiding professional burn out.
Supervision and structured reflective practices can help us learn the most from our professional experiences.
I provide supervision and consultation in the following areas:
Professional growth and development planning, including clinical competence, skill development, building engagement and rapport, and risk management
Case-specific support, including case formulation and conceptualisation, treatment planning, and transitioning or ending therapy
Support to navigate complex ethical dilemmas
Reviewing therapeutic progress to assess what’s working, what’s not and adjusting accordingly
Managing stressful work circumstances, including challenging situations, workloads, building confidence and managing the emotional impact of client work
Personal wellbeing, including finding work satisfaction and identifying warning signs of burn out
